Who else is struggling with the crazy weather that can't make up its mind? Today I thought I would share one of my absolute favorite staple pieces a simple chambray button down. I love how you can layer it with a sweater, over a tee or with a dress. Especially for the transitional season of Winter/early Spring, the chambray blouse is a must for colder mornings and warmer afternoons.
My favorite chambray blouse has a slightly worn-in look and super soft fabric. I know there are many different styles out there with different fits, dyes and embellishments. Trust me the simpler the better. I suggest looking for a button-down that has a loose fit but not too loose that it is on the verge of being frumpy. And pick a chambray top that isn't too distressed or over the top embellished. I wear mine at least once a week and prefer the staples in my closet to be simple so that they are not too memorable. Don't want a Lizzie Mcquire outfit repeater moment. My all-time favorite came from JCrew Factory, the Mercantile Collection, definitely worth every penny.
