Mountain Restaurant Picks {NC/GA}

Hello y'all

The next piece of the North Carolina/ Georgia mountain guide is to me one of the most important pieces to any trip…FOOD! Over the years I have definitely acquired a list of favorites whether it is for breakfast, lunch, dinner or most importantly dessert… I got you covered with the cities highlighted below!

Asheville- North Carolina

Asheville is known for its art and music but did you know that they have some of the best restaurants as well?

Breakfast or Brunch:

I mentioned this brunch before for but it is worth another mention… the Grove Park Inn brunch. Check out the post HERE for more on that!

Lunch:

My favorite place to grab lunch downtown would have to be the Early Girl Eatery. Sadly I am not the only one to think this so be prepared to wait, especially during the weekend or peak season. I love their Broccoli Cheddar Hush Puppies! Oh and their wild mushroom soup is to die for!! And as a reminder if you go Monday-Wednesday they close at 3pm.

Dinner:

Now this place is not exactly downtown Asheville, like the Early Girl Eatery, but it is too good not to share! 12 Bones barbeque restaurant is the best ribs I have ever eaten. Also some of the best smoky potato salad! Every thing there is top quality barbeque. Along with their dinning in option you can also order To-Go, which we do often. We love to spot by after a day of adventuring, grab our delicious dinner and eat while watching a movie. They have two locations so check out their website for hours and more information.

Desert:

Hands down my go to place for all things sweet is The Chocolate Fetish. Their truffles are like heaven on Earth for any chocolate lover. They have a large array of dark and rich chocolate options to a light Key Lime pie truffle. I think by now I have tried each one and you can’t go wrong. Also a box of chocolates makes a wonderful gift sooo send some to your favorite blogger;) Just kidding but seriously check them out!

Hendersonville- North Carolina

Lunch:

Mountain Deli is our go to spot in downtown Hendersonville. If you like a Ruben sandwich then this is the place for you! They have wonderful sandwiches and I love their potato salad (I have a thing about good potato salad if you haven’t picked up on that yet.) One of the best things about the Mountain Deli or almost anywhere in Hendersonville is that it is dog friendly; they have a nice outside sitting area for you and your pup and supply a large water bowl.

Coffee Break:

After lunch and an afternoon of shopping you will need a coffee pick me up and the Black Bear Coffee Co. is where you need to go! They also have wonderful hot chocolate for the non-coffee drinkers. There is plenty of cozy seating so if you are caught in an afternoon rain, kick back at the Black Bear Coffee Co.

Snack for your Doggie:

Your travelling four-legged companion will need a treat too! Head to Wags and pick out a bone or biscuit for your pup! It is Eloise approved!

Dillard/Clayton – Georgia

Breakfast:

Want to try a local spot and enjoy a simple country breakfast? Head to the Cupboard Café and enjoy some grits and scrabble eggs.

Lunch:

For lunch in Clayton one of my favorite spots is Fromage. They have amazing food with a quaint atmosphere. To go with the name they use delicious cheeses and have unique combinations.

Dinner:

Clayton Georgia has some of the best farm to table restaurants in Georgia. My favorite that never disappoints is Fortify Kitchen and Bar. They are great for lunch or dinner. I loved the quinoa burger I had several weeks ago! Best veggie burger I have ever had. If you want a more causal restaurant head next door to Fortify Pi and have some of the best pizza!

Dessert:

Head North up the highway toward North Carolina and you will find the best ice cream ever. I love the praline flavor but they are all great! Get two scoops you know you want it.

Now I am hungry for my next trip! Do you have a favorite that is not sured here? Leave a comment, I would love to try a new place!

Blessings from Birmingham,
