Per{suede} You

Hello, Y'all!

Happy Autumn Eve! (I wasn't kidding when I said I love Fall) Maybe it was the autumn seasons spent in New England or seeing the foliage of Asheville North Carolina...I am hooked on the season. I am already planning trips to the local farmers market to pick up pumpkins, and to the farm for apple picking. Be prepared to see an Autumn bucket list coming to Southern'spirations very soon!

Has anyone else noticed the trend of suede everything? I mean, I have seen everything from suede shoes (of course) to suede skirts, even leggings on social media and while out shopping. But I can understand why! The soft texture of the material creates a fun contrast in an outfit, plus the neutral colors are great for any Fall wardrobe. I personally love the look of suede and have subconsciously started a collection of suede shoes.

This has not always been the case, up to about a year ago I stayed away from anything soft leather or suede. I was afraid of ruining them like I did my Ugg boots back in high school... they did not end their shoe life very pretty. Of course, a pair of shoes changed my mind, a pair of blush pink neutral loafers from the JCrew Factory store were too comfortable and too cute to pass up. Immediately I began to worry about keeping their condition, making me nervous to wear them out and about. Luckily knowing my concern my mom told me about a leather and suede protector spray. I personally use and love the KIWI Suede & Nubuck Shoe Protector for protecting all of my suede shoes from the rain and dewy morning grass. Other than protective spray some manufacturers have started making waterproof materials. I even saw machine-washable suede leggings the other day online! Oh, how I love when technology and fashion collide! Long gone are the days of my ruined Uggs and worries...about shoes that it.

This summer my mom (have I ever said how amazing she is?) found the grey pumps I am wearing below during a Loft sale. (FYI there is a Loft Sale happening now, so after you finish reading this go check that out!) I love the grey color and the open toe pump is perfect for the Fall transition season. I paired the pumps with a new favorite navy dress I found while shopping at the Loft outlet several weeks back. Again, another great piece for the transitional time. The dress itself is light and airy, with thin sleeves and fabric but the color and detailing definitely does not scream summer. In this outfit, I am ready to party, if there is a dance floor my grey suede shoes and I are there!

Are you on the fence about suede because you have known it to be delicate? Well, I hope this per{suede}d you to think otherwise! ;)

Blessing from Birmingham!
